Last October, Masterchef celebrities Andy Allen (2012 winner) and Ben Milbourne (one of his toughest opponents) embarked on a Spain and Portugal food adventure.
For 21 days, Andy & Ben experienced all Spain and Portugal has to offer as they filmed their experiences for their upcoming YouTube series ANDY & BEN do…Spain & Portugal.
They had an exciting itinerary that focussed on the gastronomic, cultural and must-see sites and hotspots of Spain’s iconic cities including Barcelona, San Sebastian, Granada and Madrid.
As food-lovers visiting Barcelona, they wanted to spent one day cooking at Cook&Taste.
We welcomed Andy & Ben in their second day in Barcelona. Our chef David escorted them to the most emblematic market in the city, La Boqueria, where they enjoyed visiting our favourite market stalls and chatted with local sellers. And afterwards, back in our kitchen David introduced them into the cooking of some of the most traditional Catalan recipes, giving them his special chef twist:
- Spinach Catalan style with confit cod over a flatbread
- Catalan sausage with cooked with beans
- Rabbit and cuttlefish stew
- Sweet potato mini cake with seasonal mushrooms jam
Chef David and our friendly guests spent all day cooking, eating and dissertating about food! Andy & Ben’s eager curiosity, passion for food and sense of humor made the day utterly enjoyable!!
